Promat DURAWALL® is “The Real Thing” for Coca Cola
14/01/2009
The first installation of Promat DURAWALL® has been successfully completed at the new bottling facility for Coca Cola in Lisburn.
Coca Cola and their insurers identified a requirement to provide a barrier between the production and storage areas, which would prevent the spread of fire between both areas of up to 240 minutes.
Project Architects, Ostick & Williams, based in Belfast recommended Promat’s DURAWALL® system as a solution for the site. Design and build contractors for the project, J&P Avax, understood the advantages of the system both in terms of the build programme and the reduction of wet trades on the site. The Promat DURAWALL® 240 system was installed at a rate of 100 square metres per day and comes in a self-colour finish. Another key advantage of Promat DURAWALL® system was the third party certification by FIRAS and LPCB.
The Promat DURAWALL® installed system also featured a tested package for the protection of any structural steel support using Promat VERMICULUX® or Promat PROMATECT®-250 and fully tested recommendations for fire stopping and door penetrations which ensured full compartmentation is maintained.
Promat licensed installer Modubuild completed the installation of over 1000m2 of Promat DURAWALL® 240 along with Promat VERMICULUX®, fixed to the structural steel support to maintain the compartmentation. The system was installed ahead of schedule and the Certificate of Conformity was issued by Promat.
